❖ Quran Tajweed Course:
Every Muslim aspires to recite the Holy Quran beautifully. Learning Tajweed rules is the first step towards fulfilling that aspiration. The Quran Tajweed course is designed to help students learn the proper pronunciation of the Quran.
Course Outline:
As the course begins, we teach our students the phonetics (sound & shapes) of the Arabic Alphabet.
Students will gradually progress towards the basic rules of Tajweed (i.e. proper recitation of the Quran), including Noon Saakin, Tanween, Meem, Saakin, and some rules of Moodud (extended sounds), Ghunnah (nasal sounds), and Qalqalah (echoing sounds).
We then move towards more advanced complex rules of Tajweed in detail, including essential manners of reciting the Quran such as proper beginning and end of a recitation, mandatory extensions and pauses during recitation, and letter-specific rules such as Izhaar and Ikhfa and relationship between them.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, the students will be able to
- Recite the Quran with proper pronunciation and understanding
- Understand specific Tajweed rules and how they apply to the different parts of the Quran
